The favorite city of Shah Abbas, the 17th century ruler responsible for the construction of many of Iran's greatest buildings. Sites to visit include the enchanting Fin Garden with it natural springs, the Agha Bozorg Mosque & School, and the beautiful house of the merchant Boroujerdi.

 

       

           

For those interested in prehistoric archeology, the site of Tepeh Sialk, located between the Fin Garden and Kashan town, contains two mounds dating back to the 5th millennium BC. There is little to see, however, other than traces of mud buildings, as finds have been relocated to museums - although you may discover fragments of pottery.
